Stefan is the Head of the AI Excellence Center in Central Europe. He enables organizations to transform into AI driven and data centric businesses, leverage on data and the use of AI, and enables participation in the digital data sharing ecosystem. During his more than 30 years of experience in the IT industry, Stefan held leading IT roles in different companies, before joining HPE in 2020, such as: Head of IT Architecture at Swissport, the largest ground handler in Aviation, where he introduced data centric architecture, enabling their price winning “delay prediction” AI framework. Before that, he led the production architecture of Swisscom (CH), where he was actively involved in the Agile and DevOps transformation of the organization, AI usage for network planning and operations, and fraud prevention. Before working in Enterprise and IT Architecture, Stefan acquired a wide and deep knowledge in SW development, systems integration, and operations as CTO in ISPs (i.e. Tiscali) and different management roles in System Integrators (i.e. T-Systems), and tech companies.
Stefan has an Engineering degree from RWTH Aachen, a MBA from Henley Management College and participated in the Senior Executive Program from London Business School.
He is a regular contributor to international symposia on AI, Digital Transformation, Data Centric Architecture, and Analytics. Stefan publishes on articles in different technical journals on a regular basis. He is co-author of the Data Centric Architecture for Dummies guide, co-author of “The pathway to becoming a digital champion” (Platform Industry 4.0) and is on his way to publish a new book on “The Data Centric Enterprises - Data as the basis for success in the AI aera” with DGruyter.
